Released a little more than two years after the D3, Nikon D3S an effort to learn the basics of racing has set the D3. Ergonomic, very little has changed. Also D3S and its predecessors is difficult to distinguish at a glance unusual, but D3S has some significant improvements, not least the new caught 720x1280p video mode, and some minor improvements, designed to order new cameras create competitive offer. It contains new 'Quiet' timer mode (first seen in D5000), in-camera dust reduction and a selection of four areas of image formats, including DX and the new 1.2-fold harvest options.

D3S can offer the same resolution as the D3 with 12 million pixels, but the newly designed sensor new heights of performance penalty ISO, a 'native' ISO range from 200 to 12.800 provides, expandable to ISO 102400.
