These are series of tiny cameras with large sensors and has removable lens, commonly called mirrorless camera. Sony provides the cameras with special E mount lens, although A mount lens can also be used with the help of an adapter.
NEX-7 is made to be the most advanced tiny camera. It is embedded with awesome features such as 24 MP CMOS sensor, wrapped in magnesium alloy, has electronic viewfinder (EVF) with same resolution as EVF A77/A65 and use TRINAVI user interface (two wheel-control in the top and one at the back).
whereas its brother, NEX-5N, is a tiny camera with 16 MP CMOS sensor and 3-inch LCD screen that can be lifted, with no electronic viewfinder (must be purchased separately).
The kit lens of NEX-7 and NEX-5N are 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS with E mount, but Sony offers some new E mount lens (which is equipped with stabilizer OSS) for NEX camera owners, those are:
- 55-210mm telephoto lens f/4.5-6.3
- Zeiss 50mm f/1.8 lens
- Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 lens
Whereas the new adapter LA-EA2 enables rapid auto focus because there is a translucent mirror in it.
